Child & Teen Checkups

Child and Teen Checkups, blue check mark and green check mark

Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) is a service that is provided at NO COST to children under the age of 21 who are enrolled in Medicaid (a health plan through Medical Assistance (MA) or MinnesotaCare). Regular checkups allow families and health care providers to monitor children's growth and development, screen for and identify potential concerns, and treat them to prevent bigger problems later in life.

Child and Teen Checkups can be used for any well-child, sports, school, camp, WIC, Headstart, or daycare physical exam. C&TC also includes immunizations, hearing and vision checks, and laboratory tests such as urine, lead, and hemoglobin. Children who are eligible for C&TC can also receive dental services from participating providers. Carlton County Public Health encourages anyone eligible for this program to utilize regular Child and Teen Checkups from their dental and medical providers.

Check out the Minnesota Department of Health Child & Teen Checkups homepage for more information. If you have questions or need assistance scheduling an appointment with a provider, call Carlton County Public Health at 218-878-2853.
